You can really have it all! 5 wellness tips for the busy professional woman

As a busy professional woman it can be hard to remember self-care. Often it can feel like there aren’t enough hours in a day to get everything done and still have time for yourself. With summer approaching, why not take the opportunity to get your wellness on track? A few small changes to your routine will make achieving that summer glow a breeze for even the busiest #GirlBoss. The bonus? These changes take up very little time in your day! Here are my five tips for keeping your wellness a priority as a busy professional woman.

  1. Prioritize Sleep

When trying to balance work, sleep and fitness while still maintaining a social life, sleep is typically the piece of the pie that gets ignored. Setting a consistent bedtime during the week will do wonders for your skin and your mental wellbeing. Try for a minimum of seven hours of sleep. Your body will thank you and your mind will be sharper.

  1. Make Time for Breakfast

Skipping breakfast contributes to irritability, energy loss and even weight gain. But we can’t all be bothered with getting up early to sit down to a full pancake breakfast. Setting aside some time on the weekend to prep easy breakfasts for the week will save you time in the morning and keep you eating healthy. Omelet muffins, a big batch of oatmeal and make-ahead breakfast wraps are all easily re-heatable options for busy mornings.

  1. Schedule Some “Me Time”

Scheduling something for yourself, whether it’s a facial, a massage or even a bubble bath with a glass of wine and a good book will help keep you sane. We focus so much on other people that we often forget to take care of ourselves. Putting aside some me time will help keep you sane in all other aspects of your life. After all, breaking up the monotony of sitting at a desk is worth it.

  1. Give Back to Your Skin

Especially during the hot summer months, it’s important to hydrate. Not only will drinking water throughout the day keep your energy high and your thirst quenched, it also does wonders for your skin. The glow is real when you hydrate! Try for about eight cups of water throughout the day. Incorporating a daily multivitamin into your routine will also keep your skin looking its best. Keep a multivitamin at your desk so you remember to take it when you get to work.

Long, stressful work days take a toll on your body. It’s important to remember to take care of yourself, even when things ramp up in your professional life.
